"Meher Baba will remind you that He does everything."
Buzz Glasky
The following is from an email sent on July 14, 2019 by former Caretakers Buzz and Ginger Glasky to the new Caretakers for Meher Mount, Ellen Kwiatkowski and Eric Carlson.
Dear Ellen & Eric,
You asked for the 10 important things on Meher Mount for caretakers. There are only five or six.
You will come to realize that Meher Baba really does everything on Meher Mount. As one gets caught and immersed in the daily activities and living at Meher Mount, Meher Baba will remind you that He does everything.
Earth
Chop wood, carry water on 172 acres. This principle holds all living creatures on the planet, giving them food and shelter. It includes all solid structures like the Visitor Center/Caretaker Quarters, Baba’s Fireplace, the workshop, the storage shelter for Baba’s Tree wood, and the area around Baba’s Tree.
It includes keeping the land healthy and safe for guests and, at a minimum, to meet the requirements for the fire department inspection along with continued mowing and weed eating throughout the year to maintain the requirements. As a known fire-prone area, additional mowing may be needed.
Air
Consciousness moving in a particular direction. Caretakers obviously need to move to accomplish work. Caretakers also need time to rest and have time to themselves.
Water
Absolutely necessary! The entire water system — well, pool/reservoir, ozonator (in the house water tank), potable water tank, agricultural tank, pump system and filters (monthly replacement) — need to be monitored, kept in repair and functioning.
Fire
Fire is Meher Baba’s leela [Divine Sport, the game which God plays] on Meher Mount. For a guest visiting Meher Mount, Meher Baba may light the fire of longing for Him or something quite different. We really have no idea, but it’s probably none of our business anyway.
But we do get to participate by making each guest feel welcome, comfortable, and at home by giving your undivided attention to each one, adjusting to changes in them, or just sending them to Baba’s Tree.
Ether/Void/Space
Meher Baba is Ether and is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent. And He is a home for all in the universe, the pure presence of spiritual energy. On the entire 172 acres that is Meher Mount, it all seems to be focused on His tree — Baba’s Tree.
Energy
Looking at Meher Mount daily with new eyes can help restore balance including new information and new energy to produce a new understanding that is within every one of us.
Jai Baba,
Buzz & Ginger Glasky
