Usually on the first Saturday in August, there is a celebration of the anniversary of Avatar Meher Baba's 1956 visit to Meher Mount. This year in 2020, there is no formal celebration due to the restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meher Mount will be open on the August 2, 2020, anniversary from Noon to 5:00 p.m. for those who wish to commemorate Meher Baba’s visit on an individual basis.
Since Meher Baba spent three days in Southern California (July 31 - August 2) on that 1956 trip, you are welcome to visit Meher Mount during regular open hours Thursday, July 29 through Sunday, August 2 from Noon to 5:00 p.m.
Visitors are asked to wear masks and observe social distancing. Please note the Visitor Center and restrooms are closed. Please do not bring your pets. There are no fires, incense or candles. You will be asked to sign-in using your mobile phone. For more information, see the Visitor Guidelines.
